Just came back from the wonderful Greek island, Crete. Me and my husband just spend there a wonderful vacation ( in June 2013 ).
I was mesmerized by the beauty and the charm of this Mediterranean island.



Crete is the largest of the Greek islands.
Heraklion, or Heraclion also Iraklion (Greek: Ηράκλειο Greek pronunciation: [iˈraklio]) is the largest city and the administrative capital of the island of Crete, Greece.
The Heraklion Port is divided into two parts. One is the old Venetian harbour and the other is the new Heraklion Ferry Port.


The Venetian fortress of Koules dominates the entrance to the Venetian harbour of Heraklion. The Venetians called it the �Sea Fortress� (Castello a Mare or Rocca a Mare), but today it is known by its Turkish name, Koules, a corruption of Su Kulesi (Water Tower). It is one of the most familiar and beloved monuments of the city, and the symbo...
