Description
ORIGINAL PALETTE KNIFE OIL PAINTING ON STRETCHED CANVAS 14'' X 8'' INCHES, DEPTH - 0.8 INCH
Original modern impressionist palette knife oil painting on canvas that depicts the scenic view of Vernazza, one of the five picturesque villages of Cinque Terre, Italy, seen on the path from Corniglia.
I love to travel and one of my favorite places is Cinque Terre, in Italy.
Cinque Terre (Five Lands) is called a small portion of the rocky coast of the Italian Riviera. It is known for its scenic beauty, one of the most photographed places on earth, the place that we imagine all the winter :sun, sea, mountains, tranquility, promenade, elegant houses with pastel facades. Here time stops ... there is something timeless in the beauty of this place...
Vernazza (Latin: Vulnetia) is a town and comune located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns that make up the Cinque Terre region. Vernazza is the fourth town heading north, has no car traffic, and remains one of the truest "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera.
Vernazza's name is derived from the Latin adjective verna meaning "native" and the aptly named indigenous wine, vernaccia ("local" or "ours"), helped give birth to the village's moniker.
Vernazza is not just beautiful terraced cliffs, sea, sun and luxury homes - out of town there are gorgeous terraced vineyards that adorn the mountain. Although increasingly fewer people growing handle now, it was the one of the foundations of the local economy. Currently the main occupation of the inhabitants is contemplating the Mediterranean and tourists. Dehh ... "Il dolce far niente" (the art of sweet idleness) is at home ...
The original is no longer available, has been sold to an art collector from Ellicott City, MD, U.S.A.
