PARK GUELL NIGHT is a commissioned textural impasto palette knife oil painting for a collector from U.S. who was inspired by my other Barcelona Abstract Cityscapes I painted over the years.
I've always loved to paint Barcelona view from Parc Guell . In this work Sagrada Familia, seen in distance, is illuminated under a huge full moon. In the foreground I painted the mosaic bench of Gaudi.
This palette knife oil painting is part of my series ''Abstract cityscapes''. I started this series of abstract cities years ago and it is a recurrent theme for me. I love to paint abstract cityscapes under bold, vivid, sometimes tormented skies - yellow, pink, purple, orange, red, blue, turquoise, even green skies, sometimes skies ''inhabited'' by huge sun or full moon...
In general I prefer to stylize the architectonic details of the houses. I paint mostly abstract cityscapes, as my main goal is to deconstruct the real architectonic shapes ( than to render them exactly as in rea...

I am a professional full time artist living in Bucharest, Romania, specialized in impasto palette knife textured colorful oil paintings. My paintings are textural impressionist, abstract figurative, with references to expressionism and fauvism. My style is best expressed in my series of Abstract Cityscapes. I started this series of abstract cities many years ago and it is a recurrent theme for me.
