Description
ORIGINAL ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST PORTRAIT, OIL PAINTING ON STRETCHED CANVAS, SIZES : HEIGHT - 24 INCHES, WIDTH - 20 INCHES, DEPTH - 1 INCH
After I finished this work, I wondered myself what I could write in description and I preferred to simply let it blank for a while ... There is not a particular story behind this painting or there is, but into some kind of reversed process ... the story comes after, not before... Sometimes I simply abandon myself in the creative process and let the subconscious come out as much as I can do this ... There are so many impressions there ... winks of time that I lived in my childhood or perhaps later, but never were expressed and need to take a form ... like into a kathartic process ... yes this is it, something between ''anamnesis'' and ''katharsis'' ... The story came after because, when I saw the painting done, I realized that I knew a little boy when I was in kindergarten who looks like this portrait ( he had big ears and liked very much to listen to the birds singing :) .....

Wonderful portrait, Ana....love how you have softened all of the features to put the emphasis on the ears...to convey listening....but I still can't help but let my eyes feast on the beauty of your painting!!.....fv

A highly intriguing work Ana. This is the kind of work I call auto-pilot, and it's probably the truest form of painting expression. It is apparent that your natural intuitive sense of color juxtaposition is still such a part of this too. Immediate, spontaneous, sincere, and great art. LF!
Ana Maria Edulescu replied:
Thank you very much, Bob. ''Auto-pilot'' is the perfect for describing the process... :)... Appreciate a lot your thoughtful comment.
