I wanted to paint Sagrada Familia in different lights and also I wanted to see how these 2 canvases work together ... the nightscape is a miniature of 4x6 inches, in which I used the same type of different palette strokes like in the large painting from the right ( that one was from 2014 I think and it was of 36 inches in size ). I think that the effect of putting them together is wonderful.
I traveled to Barcelona and I was impressed by Sagrada Familia. It's architectural style has been called ''warped Gothic''. The rippling contours of the stone facade make it look as though Sagrada Familia is melting in the sun,while the towers are topped with brightly-colored mosaic. Gaudi believed that color is life. Perhaps that's why I personally admire so much his amazing creations.
