This palette knife oil painting is part of my ongoing series ''Flowers on round table''. I started this series of floral still lifes years ago and it is a recurrent theme for me over the time.

I imagined an abstract flowering shrub of colorful wild roses / Ranunculus ( one of my favorite flowers ) into a blue pot, on round red table. The background is painted also in impasto technique, with gold oil paint applied with palette knife.
''Ranunculus is a large genus of about 600 species of plants in the Ranunculaceae. Members of the genus include the buttercups, spearworts, and water crowfoots. The petals are often highly lustrous, especially in yellow species. Buttercups usually flower in the spring, but flowers may be found throughout the summer, especially where the plants are growing as opportunistic colonizers, as in the case of garden weeds.''
